The Kansas City Public Library situated in the middle of Kansas City, Missouri, United States, it is well-known as a public system headquartered in the Central of the City. Founded in 1873, its the oldest and third biggest public library system in the area of metropolitan Kansas City.

Its special collections, located in the Central Librarys Missouri Valley Room, has a collection of Kansas City local history, including original and released materials, news articles, post cards, photographs, maps, and city directories dating fromĀ  the communitys earliest history. The Librarys Ramos Collection includes books, literature, journal articles and many other materials relevant to culture and history of African-American.

The Central Branch of Kansas City Public Library grew to become famous around the world, when in1999, a lifetime-old building of the first National Bank using its marble posts, bronze doors and ornate mouldings was reconstructed towards the library. However, what attracted a lot attention wasnt the classical architecture, however the facade from the parking garage. The garage wall was created to resemble a row of giant books lined on shelves. It spines, which measure approximately 25 ft by 9 ft, are constructed with signboard Mylar. The shelf showcases 22 titles reflecting a multitude of reading through interests as recommended by Kansas City readers and then selected by The Kansas City Public Library Board of Trustees. Library is reconstructed and was completed in 2004 and it costs about US$50 million.
