The Empire State Building is a 102-story skyscraper situated in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street. It features a roof height of 1,250 ft  (381 meters), with its antenna spire incorporated, it stands as many as 1,454 feet (443.2 m) high. It’s name comes from the nickname for brand New York, the Empire State. It was the worlds highest building for 4 decades, from the completion in 1931 until construction of the World Trade Centers North Tower was carried out 1972. Following the September 11 attacks in 2001, the Empire State Building was again the highest building in New York (even though it was no longer the highest in United State or even the world).

It was once again demoted to second-highest building in New York on April 30, 2012, when the new one World Trade Center reached a greater height. The Empire State Building is presently the 3rd-highest completed skyscraper in the U.S (after the Willis Tower and Trump Worldwide Hotel and Tower, in Chicago), and also the 22nd-highest on the planet (the highest nows Burj Khalifa, situated in Dubai). Its also the 4th-highest free standing structure in the Americas.
